LoHCEO (Low Overhead and High Congestion Reduction in Epidemic Mode for Opportunistic Networks)
摘要
In an environment where nodes possess characteristics features such as: intermittent connectivity, dynamic network topology, mobility, store—carry—forward approach, high error rate et al. Opportunistic Networks (OppNets) plays a vital role. To ensure ~ 100 percent packet delivery ratio, Epidemic routing is usually followed by OppNet wherein a multiple copies of message packet is flooded to all neighboring nodes but it incurs high network resource consumption such as network link, bandwidth, buffer space, power, energy, bottleneck ratio et al. In this research work, we proposed a routing scheme Low Overhead and High Congestion reduction in Epidemic mode for Opportunistic Networks (LoHCEO) which is an enhanced version of SERPO (Selective Enhanced Routing protocol for OppNet). In SERPO, the packet is routed only to the shortest path selected from all available neighboring nodes using Dijkstra’s algorithm and First – in – First – Out (FIFO) for packet queuing that causes high network resources consumption. To overcome such issue LoHCEO has been proposed by implementing WFQ packet queuing mechanism for packet forwarding among source and destination nodes. The simulation of proposed work has been done in ONE simulator on three network performance metrics namely packet delivery ratio, packet overhead ratio and average latency ratio respectively. Additionally, a comparison study also presented with the SERPO for showing the efficacy of proposed scheme. We also presented the scope of improvement and conclusion based on the simulation.
