Distributions of the Reflection Amplitude for Networks with Unitary and Symplectic Symmetries in the Case of Large Absorption

The distributions of the reflection amplitudes \(r_i=|S_{ii}|\) of the scattering matrix \(\hat{S}\) of the two-port networks with unitary and symplectic symmetries are experimentally studied for large absorption strength parameter \(\gamma \) . We demonstrate that the obtained results are in good agreement with the theoretical ones predicted within the framework of the Gaussian unitary and symplectic ensembles of the random matrix theory.
