Application of Motion Capture Technology in Ethnic Costume Cultural and Creative Products: Taking Guangxi Zhuang Ethnic Culture as an Example

Aim: Motion capture technology is a digital means that has been widely applied in fields such as film animation, gaming entertainment, and virtual reality. Any artwork is a combination of material and spiritual elements, and ethnic costumes are no exception. With industrial development, traditional skills related to ethnic costumes have gradually been replaced by machines, making the protection and promotion of ethnic cultural connotations even more important. In the digital age, utilizing digital means to promote the cultural connotations of ethnic costumes is a question worth considering. Methods: By employing a three-level model of emotion-based design, the digital cultural and creative design of ethnic costumes can be analyzed. While protecting and inheriting intangible cultural heritage, emotion-based design can guide the design process from cultural, interactive, and transformative perspectives, promoting the simultaneous development of the cultural connotations and traditional craftsmanship of ethnic costumes. Results: By focusing on the cultural content of ethnic costumes, designing visual and auditory elements, and incorporating interactive features, the application of motion capture technology in the emotion-based cultural and creative design of ethnic costumes can enhance production efficiency and strengthen presentation effects, thereby facilitating the digital dissemination and development of ethnic culture. Taking the culture of the Zhuang ethnic group in Guangxi as an example, the application of digital methods such as motion capture technology in the design of digital cultural and creative products related to ethnic costumes can drive the digital dissemination of ethnic costume culture. Conclusion: This paper guided by emotion-based design, discusses the multi-level design of digital cultural and creative products, including cultural, interactive, and transformative aspects. It explores the application of motion capture technology to assist in the design of cultural and creative products related to ethnic costumes. By exploring relevant design methods and practices, this paper enriches the theoretical research on ethnic costume cultural and creative products and provides some references.
