摘要

This study explores the differences in health attitudes, the roles of smartwatches, their Perceived Persuasiveness, Satisfaction, and Continuance Intention between respondents from Singapore (N = 139) and Taiwan(n = 140) using smartwatch technologies. Through the collection of survey data, we conducted independent samples t-tests to analyze the variance in respondents’ attitudes and intentions towards smartwatch usage. It highlights significant regional differences in the adoption and usage of wearable technology. In Singapore, users exhibit a more pronounced engagement with health-oriented behaviors and a stronger emphasis on healthy lifestyles compared to their Taiwanese counterparts. This suggests a higher accessibility to health resources and a greater emphasis on health in Singapore. Smartwatches are primarily viewed as practical tools that enhance productivity and efficiency, with a secondary role as health and fitness coaches. Despite subtle differences in perceived persuasiveness, overall satisfaction levels with smartwatch technology were comparable between the two regions. However, Singaporean users showed a greater intention to continue using smartwatches, possibly reflecting a more vibrant health and fitness culture and higher technological engagement. These findings underscore the influence of cultural and regional factors on technology acceptance and highlight the need for tailored public health strategies and technology marketing approaches that consider the unique cultural and social dynamics of each market.
