Individual, Group, and Family Therapies
摘要
Individual, group, and family therapy are integral components of mental health treatment, demonstrating efficacy in addressing depression, anxiety, substance misuse, and relationship issues. Individual therapy offers personalized support for patients to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, reducing symptoms and promoting positive life choices. Group therapy fosters a supportive environment for individuals with similar challenges to share experiences and learn from one another, enhancing social skills and self-esteem. Family therapy addresses relational conflicts and improves communication and problem-solving among family members, benefiting those affected by mental health issues. PMHNPs play a crucial role in delivering these therapies, equipping patients with coping skills and providing ongoing support. However, barriers such as cost and availability hinder access to therapy for some individuals, necessitating advocacy for insurance coverage and workforce expansion. PMHNPs must be proficient in these modalities to ensure optimal patient care. This chapter will explore individual, group, and family therapies, alongside complementary and alternative approaches, to empower PMHNPs in delivering comprehensive mental health care.
