What Could Go Wrong?

  • Charley Shults

摘要

This chapter deals with the things that could possibly go wrong to prevent recovery or positive treatment outcomes. These are the lack of honesty, self-deception, hidden agendas, sociopathy and psychopathy, going too fast or too slow, provocative partners who refuse to participate in the therapy process, secondary gain and no desire to change, masking trauma, loss, or disability that prevents the client perceiving the difficulties in the attachment relationships, and just plain old garden variety defensiveness.
