摘要

FO calculus has a long history which can be traced back to 300 years ago. The chapter introduces the preliminaries of FO calculus and briefly review the development of SMC and FOSMC. To apply in engineering, some stability criteria for FO system, engineering realization problem and the FO application in linear motor and space tethered system are also sketchy presented.
