Biomedical Applications of Surfactant Modified Graphene Based Electrochemical Sensing Devices

摘要

Graphene based derivatives attracted tremendous interest in the development of immune sensors and biosensors due to their high surface area, high biocompatibility, and abundant sites for chemical reactions. In the past decade novel electrochemical sensors evolved and their utility in the detection of biological species attracted much attention due to their specific selectivity and sensitivity in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. Graphene based compounds show high selectivity, sensitivity, reproducibility and can be used to detect biomolecules in very low concentrations. Derivative of graphene such as, graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, graphene quantum dots etc. contain functionalized structures which possesses remarkable biosensors/immune sensor properties and nanomaterials dispersed over the graphene derivatives utilized effectively in the development of biosensors and immune sensor development. Intrinsic properties of graphene and the engineered surface responsible for the transduction mechanism in the detection of biomolecules are utilized for the biosensor development. These biosensors are the conducive miniaturization and widely used in the low cost disease diagnosis and development of devices.
