Surfactant-Modified Electrodes for Detection of Vitamins

Vitamins are necessary for the maintenance of human existence. Electrochemical sensors have received a lot of interest since they can quickly, precisely, and effectively detect vitamins in a range of samples. These sensors also feature a straightforward design, low cost, great sensitivity, ease of shrinking, exceptional dependability, and reproducibility. In this book chapter, the fundamental properties of several vitamins are discussed, and the most widely used electrodes and electrochemical detection methods are presented in detail. The electrochemical sensors operate under the premise that almost all vitamins have electrochemical activity. This suggests that the amounts of current produced at specific potentials by the oxidation and reduction of vitamins at the working electrode surface can be used to determine the concentrations of vitamins in the electrolyte. Voltammetric techniques are preferable to other techniques because they are more affordable, exhibit sharp sensitivity, and analyze data more quickly. This study goes into great depth on various electrochemical sensors that use CPE as the working electrode and are used to find vitamins that are soluble in both fat- and water-soluble vitamins.
