The Resilience of Journalistic Values
摘要
Despite the permanent osmosis of the media ecosystem, on the web, many “true news” neither have the impact nor the spread like their “fake news” competitors. Thus, what is missing in the Journalism represented by public service media so that it can reposition itself in society, redeeming its image as a bastion of idoneous information and Truth? In today’s noticeability, what is missing in the relationship between news values and society that is so impacting in the social image and credibility of Journalism? Is it possible that, contrary to what has been argued repeatedly, the turning point for true news lies in how to do “real” Journalism, rather than in how to produce it? To make it public is a form of knowledge, and it is not possible to continue to think of journalism through models that, by premise, do not include the double mediatization that intelligent techno-sphere imprints nowadays: that of the content (per se, society) and that of the media, agent of that content mediatization. On the other hand, Journalism is nowadays captive to social media networks as a reference to the interests of the public (many times confused with public interest), and the effects of this transformation in the newsrooms are yet to be perceived. This chapter is the result of research by the authors on the subject, based on the narrative review technique (Rother, Acta Paulista de Enfermagem 20(2):5–6, 2007), which allows to perform a broader critical analysis and interpretations from a theoretical or contextual point of view. Although this methodology does not stand the presentation of the sources used, for ethical reasons, it was chosen to mention them considering, therefore, that this choice is also justified by adding credibility to this type of revision.
