Episodic Memory
摘要
A paradigm shift began in memory research when Endel Tulving [502] contrasted episodic memory with general, fact-based memory, which he called “semantic”. For him, only episodic memory refers to the past, while the other refers to the present. What was revolutionary here was the idea of “mental time travel” through subjective time. For Tulving, episodic memory is a recently evolved, late-developing, and early-deteriorating past-oriented memory system that makes mental time travel through subjective time possible [545].
