Conclusion

This chapter aims to present a more comprehensive and comparative conclusion. The following subtitles will address colonial and postcolonial policies, practices, discourses, and institutions that enabled, underpinned, and legitimized the exploitation of the Gulf oil. From a Postcolonial theoretical perspective, I argue that these policies, practices, and institutions represented European/Western subjectivity and served their interests. Thus, Anglo-American military superiority, economic power, oil technology, and political order at the core-periphery levels have supposedly justified oil exploitation in the Persian Gulf.
