摘要

Given the intricate and abstract nature of computer hardware, instructing computer science students on the functioning of hardware devices is frequently a challenging endeavor, demanding significant dedication from both instructors and students. While the delivery of theoretical lessons and exercises is a crucial aspect of the teaching process, the most pivotal element in hardware-based courses is hands-on exercises. These practical engagements play a vital role in awakening or sustaining the curiosity of computer science students for hardware courses. This paper seeks to assess the efficacy of two teaching methods, namely practice and lecture, with the aim of determining the more effective approach in enhancing students’ learning outcomes in computer hardware. The results did not align with our initial hypothesis, and potential reasons for this discrepancy were discussed. Additionally, future study plans were outlined to further investigate and address the observed outcomes.
