Digital Gamification Design of Chinese Landscape Painting Based on Gesture Interaction
摘要
Gamification design, as a mean of interactive design which is capable of increasing the sense of entertainment and enhancing user experience in non-gaming environments, has become an important avenue for the dissemination of traditional culture. This article is based on Leap Motion interaction technology and has designed an enframed scenery gamification system which allows viewer to experience the implicit beauty of Chinese landscape painting by appreciating one painting’s performance under the layer of visual in different styles to improve the experience of painting experience. The design draws inspiration from the art of enframed scenery of Chinese classical garden, extracting 4 common frames as interactive windows between the participants and Chinese landscape painting. Viewers can use three simple hand gestures, “index extended”, “index pinching and releasing with thumb”, with the Leap Motion devices to achieve real-time switching between 2D and 3D styles of Chinese landscape painting, explore the landscapes, collage, and generate personalized Chinese landscape painting. 16 volunteers were recruited for interface usability testing, and the experimental results indicated that most volunteers preferred immersive visual appreciation in highly engaging non-contact interactive systems rather than rapid selection of images. They all agreed that this gamification system provides a reference for the digital design combing Chinese landscape painting and the art of enframed scenery of Chinese classical garden.
