Delaying War

  • Patricia Roberts-Miller

摘要

When rhetors are invested in vilifying deliberation about war, trying to make a war of choice seems to be a war of necessity; they frequently invoke the example of appeasing Hitler. The argument is that it is obvious that other nations should have responded with maximum aggression, and therefore, it is equally obvious that we should do so now. This chapter argues that the case is not so obvious.
