Internet of Things-IoT: Definition, History, Characteristics, Architecture, Benefits, Drawbacks and Application Area
摘要
The traditional internet, while a remarkable innovation, had inherent limitations that prompted the birth of the Internet of Things (IoT). The conventional internet primarily connected computers and smartphones, leaving a vast array of physical objects and sensors disconnected from the digital world. This limitation hindered real-time data capture, scalability, and the ability to interact with the physical environment. In response to these shortcomings, the IoT emerged as a groundbreaking solution, extending internet connectivity to a multitude of objects and devices, enabling them to collect, communicate, and act upon data autonomously. This evolution has revolutionized industries and paved the way for a more interconnected and data-driven world. In this article we briefly discussed about what IOT is, history of IOT, about its characteristics, architecture, benefits, drawbacks and applications.
