Photovoltaic System with Fuzzy-Direct Torque Control Technique for Standalone Application

This paper’s main goal is to apply the Direct Torque Control (DTC) method with fuzzy logic control to a solar system. In order to accomplish this, the study also compares the performance properties of two alternative control approaches, Indirect Field Oriented Control Technique (IFROC) and Closed Loop Scalar Control (V/f). The photovoltaic system is intended primarily for standalone applications. However, the power production of solar panels might vary during the day depending on the various climatic conditions, making it unpredictable. For this, Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) strategies are being developed.Three different solar irradiance profiles were used for the examined system and collected using a data acquisition system used in our laboratory. To evaluate and present the efficacy of the proposed system for standalone applications, simulation modeling with Matlab/Simulink is used.
