摘要

The utilization of renewable energy sources like wind power has been gaining attention as an alternative source of energy. The maximum power point tracking technique is essential for enhancing the performance of wind energy systems. In this context, this paper presents an MPPT control strategy based on whale optimization algorithm for a domestic wind turbine grid-connected system. The system comprises a small wind turbine driving a permanent magnet synchronous generator, connected to the grid through a rectification stage and single-phase inverter. The proposed algorithm utilizes a variable DC reference signal to adjust the inverter’s output voltage to extract maximum power from the wind turbine. Simulation results demonstrate that the WOA MPPT-based algorithm can effectively regulate the operating point of the wind turbine, allowing it to operate at its maximum efficiency under varying wind conditions.
