摘要

This article aims to present an MPPT (Maximum Power-Point Tracking) approach based on the Kalman filter principle. This technique ranks among the methods that do not require a mathematical model. It is very interesting because the prediction of the future state is made by means of the present and the estimated past. This approach is used to optimize the performance of a wind energy conversion system (WECS) connected to residential applications. This MPPT controller was developed in two variants: with and without a speed sensor. The main objective of this work is to test the feasibility of the proposed approaches (Kalman MPPT) to extract the maximum power from the WECS and to analyse the results obtained during the variation of the wind speed (for small and large changes). The total harmonic distortion (THD) of residential current is used as a comparison parameter between the proposed method and the disturbance and observation technique.
