Pelican Search Optimization for MANETs Routing
摘要
An Ad hoc network is a network that is characterized by mobility where all of its nodes are mobile as well as being decentralized more than it does not require a preexistence of infrastructure for the establishment of connection between the nodes, these the latter communicate with each other via wireless connections. Routing is a method through which a given piece of information is passed from a certain sender to a specific recipient. In this type of networks all nodes are equal as there is no centralized control over which each node participates in sending packets to other nodes. The choice of inspiration from nature is motivated by the common characteristics between ad hoc mobile networks and bio-inspired methods. In order to address this issue, it is imperative to employ a technique that consistently identifies the optimal path in response to any alteration in the network’s topology. This study introduces a novel protocol, namely AODVPE, which is developed based on the pelican research algorithm. Pelicans work in groups, in the same space. Every pelican hunts in two phases (exploration and exploitation phase). Several simulations are made via NS-2 on different scenarios. The results obtained showed a very high performance of the proposed approach.
