Properties and Property Relations
摘要
Applications of the first and second law of thermodynamics require relations between energy and entropy and measurable properties such as temperature, pressure and specific volume. These relations may be formulated as equations, but mostly the data is collected in thermodynamic property tables. In this chapter we study properties for liquid and vapor phases, as well as for liquid-vapor equilibria and phase change, and their corresponding tables. The fascinating interplay between property relations due to the Gibbs equation, and the question of which measurements are required to produce the tables is deferred to Chap. 16 .
