Exploring the Emergence of Sustainable Practices in Healthcare Research and Application as a Path to a Healthier Future

  • Harshita Jain

摘要

Beyond long-standing norms, there has been a substantial paradigm shift in favour of sustainability in the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. This chapter examines the rising trend of incorporating environmentally friendly concepts into medical research and practise. Through an analysis of several studies, projects, and instances, it clarifies the rising significance of sustainability in healthcare. The chapter covers a growing range of sustainable therapies, such as energy-efficient medical equipment and hospital architecture that takes the environment into consideration. It is important to recognise the interconnectedness between human and environmental health, since sustainable healthcare methods have been demonstrated to have good benefits on both. This examination of the literature and expert opinions demonstrates that sustainable practises increase patient outcomes and community health resilience. As stakeholders come to understand the significance of sustainability in healthcare, this chapter serves as a road map, outlining the challenges, opportunities, and requirements for interdisciplinary collaboration, appropriate legislation, and innovative solutions. By breaking down the different components of sustainable healthcare, this chapter gives scholars, practitioners, and policymakers the tools they need to steer toward a healthier, more sustainable future.
