Introduction

In this chapter I present an introduction to the book as a whole. In the first part, I answer the “why?” and “what?” questions. I provide the background of the research and I spell out the theoretical core of the book, that is, a Wittgensteinian account of dispositions as normative patterns of action. This account constitutes an example of de-naturalization of dispositions and it is set forward against what I call “the current paradigm” on dispositions. In the second part, I provide a summary of the book.
