Summary, Conclusions, Policy Implications, and Future Research

This chapter presents the book’s summary, conclusions, policy implications and remaining research gaps. It analysed the mantra of industrialization with a human face in Ethiopia's apparel exporting industrial parks through seven chapters. It has also been concluded that the implications of economic globalization on labour compliance among multinational companies operating, particularly in the late-industrializing countries of the Global South such as Ethiopia, have increasingly become a matter of great importance. It also recommends that achieving sustainable and inclusive industrial development in Ethiopia by addressing the minimum labour and human rights standards of local industrial workers necessitates the agency of an active and capable state.
