摘要

The Trabia and Termini Imerese mountains fall in the northern sector of the northern Sicilian chain (Fig. 11.1) and are the result of the tectonic superposition of various carbonate, carbonate-silicoclastic and terrigenous geological bodies, of Upper Triassic–Lower Miocene age, with generally southern vergence. These bodies derive from the Miocene deformation of a pelagic basin and escarpment succession (Dominio Imerese Auct.), formed during the Mesozoic distensive phases, crowned by silicoclastic terrigenous deposits (Fysch Numidico Auct.).
