摘要

This chapter will explore the methodological implications of AI in CIE research and the efforts to decolonizedecolonize research methods used in the field. The conversation on AI’s role in decolonizing CIE research continues to play out in real-time. However, even as these ethical questions abound, it is important to highlight some of the helpful applications of the myriad new tools and techniques that AI has introduced for research and scholarship purposes. AI-powered conversation robots, machine learningmachine learning, natural language processing, and predictive analytics tools offer exciting opportunities to assist CIE researchers with their work. Therefore, this chapter will also explore how AI is being used to benefit researchers as they navigate the often lengthy, multi-step process of collecting data, writing, and publishing studies. The chapter will conclude with some recommendations for ethical research practices using AI in CIE.
