Multimodal Approach to Implement Infection Prevention and Control in Surgery
摘要
A significant proportion of healthcare associated infections can be prevented by adopting evidence-based care practices; however, they are inconsistently and not uniformly adopted. The challenge of translating scientific evidence into daily practices is widely recognized and due to multiple barriers, relating to individual professionals, social context and organizational and economic context. Interventions using a multimodal approach have a positive effect in improving compliance and preventing infections. Available evidence is reviewed as well as recommended steps for implementing change.
