摘要

Artist’s books take the form of a book as an artistic medium and utilize publishing as an artistic practice. Creators have complete control over the structure, content, paper, and printing of the entire book, making it a favored medium for its freedom and versatility. Artist’s books have maintained a significant presence in the art world from the early 20th-century modern art movement to the present, and their portable and easily disseminated nature has rapidly garnered a community of enthusiasts. Books require active engagement, prompting readers to touch, open the cover, and explore their contents. Interactivity and a sense of participation are distinctive features of artist’s books. These books are not merely passive reading materials but interactive artworks that engage the reader. This interactivity sparks the reader’s creativity, placing them within the shared context of the artist’s creation. The relationship between creator, book, and reader is inseparable. This study appreciates artists’ books from the reader’s perspective, utilizing the evaluation structure of attraction engineering and quantitative statistical analysis. Through the results of these analyses, an artist’s book will be created to test the research hypotheses empirically. This book will embody the artist’s creative vision, presenting unique insights into visual and sensory expression. The thesis aims to provide a substantive and practical perspective on the study of artists’ books, emphasizing their inherent attractiveness and offering insights for future research. By combining theoretical exploration, we hope to comprehensively understand and highlight the unique value of artists’ books.
