Discovering Authentic Self: Coaching Agent for Job-Hunting Students
摘要
This study addresses the social issue in Japan where the unique recruitment system often leads to a mismatch between students’ vague career goals and job requirements, impacting their motivation and productivity. Our solution is a pioneering coaching agent integrated into the recruiting process, designed to prompt users to reflect on their future, thereby enhancing their self-understanding and clarifying their career direction. This approach aims to shift the focus of job-hunting students from the immediate to a long-term perspective. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our agent in boosting career awareness and self-reflection among engineering students, particularly through sections that probe into their goals, offering fresh insights into their career paths. The significant innovation of this research lies in its novel method for career exploration, challenging conventional job-hunting approaches by enabling students to deeply ponder their career desires. Future research should expand the agent’s application to a wider array of academic fields to broaden its impact.
