Further Ideas Arising from the Concept of an Ideal Gas

Two important statements on ideal gases are described: Holtzmann’s assertion and Hoppe’s theorem, complemented with Mayer’s assertion. Then, it is shown how a new function—entropy—follows from them, employing also Green’s theorem. In this way, the existence of entropy is demonstrated for an ideal gas.
