National Law on a Responsible Shipowner: Implementation of the MLC at the National Level
摘要
The chapter contains an analysis of the implementation of the relevant provisions of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) into national law. First, it will be presented who can be considered as the shipowner in respect of seafarers’ employment under the national law of a particular country. Next, the chapter presents how it is ensured by national law that the seafarer has information about the responsible person, especially in the case when a third person acts as an employer. The national law of the following countries is covered in this chapter: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Norway, the Philippines and the UK.
