Caregiver involvement is critical to student success, particularly for students receiving special education services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). This chapter explores the historical and legal foundations of caregiver involvement in special education, the barriers that hinder full engagement, and strategies to foster effective caregiver-school partnerships.
