The Governance of a SENO

Governance is another integral element in the flourishing of social enterprising nonprofit organization. Governance refers to a process in which the authority influences and authorizes policies and decisions that will define the life of the organization and its conduct. The hybrid nature of the SENO calls for a governance approach that accommodates hybridity, addressing both business and charity needs. One of the founders mentioned that for any dual-mission organization to deliver development to people, the institution’s governance system has to be strong on both ends. This means that one cannot run a successful SENO without proper governance that addresses the dual nature of the organization.
