Transmitter Design

This chapter describes the development of high-bandwidth and high-power NMR transmitters for tuned probes. This effort is useful for portable NMR systems, especially low-cost systems like those described in this book, due to the gross inhomogeneity of the \(B_0\) field generated by unshimmed magnets. In such fields, an increase in excitation bandwidth generally results in the excitation of a larger sample volume, which in turn improves the SNR.
