Implementing Scaled Agile Framework Methodology Principles in the Quality Assurance Process

In the software production realm, implementing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) often presents challenges in harmonizing testing and quality assurance (QA) processes with Agile practices. This paper outlines a structured methodology for implementing SAFe principles in Quality Assurance (QA), aligning with Agile methodologies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. The methodology progresses through four distinct increment areas: Team, System, Solution, and Release. In the Team Increment, a “Scrum Tea” meeting sets the stage for product clarity and customer-centric QA design thinking, guided by testing principles. The System Increment focuses on updating the test plan/strategy and aligning testing activities with customer needs. The Solution Increment involves component testing, manual and automated testing, and test evidence archiving. Finally, the Release Increment emphasizes early issue identification and continuous integration. A case study illustrates the practical application of this methodology, showcasing how SAFe and Agile principles align with the incremental approach to deliver high-quality software products. This structured methodology provides a comprehensive framework to ensure software quality and customer satisfaction throughout the development lifecycle.
