Renal Physiology
摘要
The kidney has a wide array of responsibilities that range from regulation of fluid volume and osmolarity, management of electrolytes, elimination of endogenous and exogenous toxins, metabolic functionsMetabolic function including the production of hormonesHormones, and acid-base balanceAcid base balance. This chapter will review the basic physiologic mechanisms by which the kidney accomplishes these tasks. Having an appreciation for the cellular mechanisms through which these responsibilities are achieved helps in understanding the effects of physiologic derangements and the body’s defense of homeostasisHomeostasis.
