Maladaptive Consumption Conceptual Identification Model

There are many domains of consumption that can vary along the adaptive-maladaptive continuum as a function of how ambiguously adaptive the behavior is. Some behaviors are clearly maladaptive, such as smoking nicotine, and others are clearly adaptive, such as healthy eating and exercise, but many others are ambiguous in as much as when the adaptive behavior slips into becoming maladaptive.
