摘要

The conclusion summarizes the awareness of multinorm practices in the grammatical relationships of discourse. These are not confined to language rules, but are about linguistic fluidity, which reveals the ‘cognitive process of expressing’ as a norm in written discourse. The audience is aware of linguistic strategies like topicalization, reverse instantiation, and thematization in the functional approach to grammatical elements. As ‘linguistic tools, these strategies are effective for working through the discrepancies in written performance, which are also reflected in academic scores. The functional approach to grammatical elements also opens the debate for study into variations in other domains like business, medical communication, etc. Linguistic fluidity is an important part of linguistic diversity, moving us towards a broader concept of ‘language in action’ by moving beyond the language rules applied to standard language use in a multilingual context.
