摘要

Six Sigma, or 6σ, is a widely recognized framework for cutting defects at the project level and improving performance and customer satisfaction at the corporate level. In the context of the Vietnamese steel industry, which experienced numerous fluctuations in the year 2022, the competition among CSR manufacturers will become more difficult with the participation of two giants from China and India in early 2023. CSR manufacturers in general, and Company A in particular, engaged in a race for quality in order to maintain their competitive position within the industry. Company A, a leading CSR manufacturer in Vietnam, achieved a thickness yield of 81.6% in early 2023. With the aim of enhancing its competitive capabilities, Company A has invested in implementing the Six Sigma DMAIC quality improvement project. This research presented the process of implementing Six Sigma DMAIC comprehensively as a 4-month quality project at Company A which increase the thickness yield to 95.82%, surpassing the goal of 90%. The results of this research evaluated the effectiveness of applying Six Sigma in the steel industry, a case study at Company A, and presented factors affecting the thickness of CRS during the rolling process. This will be a meaningful reference for relevant individuals and organizations.
