Adaptation Model for Food Security and the Problem of Water Resources in Algeria
摘要
The development of agriculture is based on the balanced use of natural resources, namely soil and water resources. In this environment, the role of man is crucial. Algeria is characterized by a semi-arid climate where rainfall is often insufficient, requiring the Algerian authorities to implement an aggressive policy allowing not only maximum mobilization of water but also its appropriate use. Similarly, the optimization of production requires the use of the most advanced technologies and the choice of products and supplies most suitable for the soil and climate of the region. This is why the National Office of Irrigation and Drainage (NOID) or (ONID) (National Office of Irrigation and Drainage: company known in Algeria as ONID), has just launched a vast program of assistance to the agricultural sector aimed at optimizing production but also agricultural productivity. Our task is to describe, diagnose and analyze these actions in order to identify shortcomings and propose solutions to remedy them. The challenge of the moment, therefore, requires that we combine all our efforts in an attempt to ensure agricultural autonomy and assert our sovereignty in this area. From this perspective, we will try to propose an adaptation model inspired by the new logic based on knowledge, know-how and interpersonal skills, following a global and transversal analysis of the “water” vector in the central issue of food security and sovereignty.
