The headmaster of the school that Anna, Belle, and Chris attend decided that students should have more say in how the school is ran. As the first step, the students would decide what new books the school’s library should buy. This was quite a devious plan on the part of the headmaster since both reading statistics and student involvement with school affairs were dropping, and, with this approach, he hoped to improve both. By some strange coincidence, completely unrelated to being late one day, Anna, Belle, and Chris were asked to form the selection team that would decide which books to buy.
