摘要

Medical Internet of Things (MIoT) has been integrated with biosensors, wearable sensors, and other medical devices to facilitate the timely diagnosis and prediction of acute diseases. However, security and privacy concerns can affect the dedication of appropriate healthcare service providers (HSPs) to patients and timely decision-making. Blockchain technology can create a secure communication platform between different MIoT devices to address this issue. The metaverse technology, which follows the blockchain method, creates a safe platform for communication between Avatars in various aspects, including medical applications. By deploying a second real-world to define Avatars of physical life and tie up virtual and physical spaces through augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) applications, the metaverse technology can improve the efficiency of MIoT in timely decision-making, diagnosing, and predicting diseases besides supporting availability and security. This chapter aims to analyze different approaches that can improve or deteriorate the efficiency of MIoT in timely decision-making and prediction. It explains various methods to provide healthcare services to patients and requesters. It analyzes their efficiency by raising the number of MIoT’s users and components and investigating the metaverse technology in the research area. The role of the metaverse technology is explored in medicine-based applications and MIoT in diagnosing and predicting diseases besides the probability of virtual treatment recommendation. The features of the metaverse and other methods create an opportunity to improve the efficiency of MIoT in timely decision-making, diagnosing, and predicting, in addition to supporting availability and security.
