Intelligent Healthcare Systems intheMetaverse: Architecture, Applications, Challenges, and Opportunities
摘要
The metaverse facilitates rapid and efficient decision-making by enabling connections with multiple experts simultaneously. This chapter discusses the metaverse’s contribution to healthcare solutions. This chapter covers the architecture of intelligent healthcare systems in the metaverse, projects, and real-time case studies related to disease prevention, prediction, treatment, post-care services, mental health support, personal care, elderly care, intensive care units (ICUs), telesurgery, medical education, and training. Furthermore, this chapter addresses ethical considerations, opportunities, limitations, challenges, and futuristic perspectives associated with these advancements. The arrival of digital reality has created a new digital world with apparently endless possibilities. AR (augmented reality), VR (virtual reality), and other digital technologies can help to reduce healthcare costs in several ways. Emerging technologies like the metaverse and multiverse are still in the early stages of development, but it has the potential to further revolutionize healthcare in several ways. The people can work, learn, and socialize in the metaverse, but they may need to travel less in the real world. This could lead to a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions from transportation, as well as a reduction in air pollution in cities. The metaverse could be used to create virtual hospitals and clinics where patients could receive care from doctors and other healthcare professionals from all over the world. Three-dimensional Web3-based healthcare systems can provide patients with a more immersive and realistic experience. The chapters describe the architecture of a Web3-based metaverse healthcare system, focusing on data collection with the medical Internet of Things (MIoT), edge computing, artificial intelligence of things (AIoT), data standardization, and encryption. A digital twin is a virtual replica of a real-world object or system. Digital twins can be used to simulate and test new procedures and treatments before they are used on real patients. This can help to improve the safety and efficacy of healthcare. The local network and public cloud can store and transmit patient data. This can help to improve the accessibility and scalability of the system. Another emerging technology called blockchain ensures data security and protection in Web3. Additionally, blockchain highlights various use cases including digital treatment of central nervous system diseases, cancer treatment, fetal medicine, and medical education applications. There are currently no regulatory guidelines for the metaverse, which can create uncertainty for healthcare providers and patients. It is important to protect users’ privacy and data security in the metaverse, including unauthorized access and cyberbullying. The metaverse has the potential to transform healthcare by improving access, reducing costs, and improving the quality of healthcare.
