Requiem for the Rhino

Large numbers of black and white rhino recorded by early hunters throughput country. Several “species” described. Large numbers of both types killed. Extinction of white rhino predicted in 1855. Both almost extinct by end of nineteenth century and becoming so in the twentieth century. Black and white rhinos re-introduced in recent times.
