Regional Planning Support as a Combination of Expert Judgement, Open Data, Simulation, and Machine Learning
摘要
Regional planning is a challenging task as it brings together topics like traffic planning, architecture, demography, ecology, economy, politics and so on - each a challenging task of its own right. Consequently, regional planners tend to simplify things to be able to cope with the “explosion” of mutual inter-dependencies and the problems arising from them. However, these simplifications often are problematic and can lead to sub-optimal solutions. In this paper, we describe ongoing work on bringing together open data, various disciplines of computer science and topic experts to overcome at least some of the simplifications still used today as best practice.
