摘要

WeUltrasound study soundSound transmissionTransmission through platesPlate perforated with subwavelengthSubwavelength holes. Experimental results are analyzed in the lightLight of both a rigid solid model as well as a full elasto-acousticAcoustics theory. A discussion comparing soundSound and opticsOptics is given based upon an analytical framework. We show that, unlike lightLight, soundSound is transmitted through individual subwavelengthSubwavelength holes, in a perfectly rigid thin film approximately in proportion to their area. Moreover, hole arraysArray in perfectly rigid thin films do not exhibit full soundSound transmissionTransmission due to the absence of lattice resonancesResonance. Therefore, the resonantResonant full transmissionTransmission observed in hole arraysArray is not extraordinary in the case of soundSound. However extraordinary soundSound screening well beyond that predicted by the massMass law is observed. Finally, we find a strong interplay between WoodWood anomaly minima and intrinsic platePlate modes (Lamb modes), which results in fundamentally unique behavior of soundSound as compared to lightLight.
