Acoustic Cloaking with Plasmonic Shells
摘要
This chapterCloaking presentsPlasmonics an overviewShells of the scatteringAcoustic cloaking cancellation approach applied to acousticAcoustics wavesWaves, inspired by the use of plasmonicPlasmonics cloaksCloak for electromagneticElectromagnetics wavesWaves. Using an analogous analytical approach, we show here that isotropic and homogeneous acoustic metamaterialAcoustic metamaterial covers may provide strong scattering reduction over moderately broad bandwidths of operation in a variety of acousticAcoustics scenarios of interest. This chapter outlines the basic physics of this approach, along with numerical examples for moderately sized elasticElastic and fluidFluid objects, thereby providing insights into the anomalous suppression of acousticAcoustics scattering produced by this cloakingCloaking technique.
