Kaitlyn’s Story

Kaitlyn describes her journey through the education system lined with struggles both academic and social and reflects on the impact of these experiences on her adult life, including relationships with others and mental illness. She further describes the impact of her educational experiences on her parenting style of her two children with learning disabilities and her own personal successes. Her story is complemented by commentaries from an elementary school principal and a coordinator from a Learning Disabilities Association, where she coordinates math programming for students with learning disabilities.
