摘要

Telepsychiatry, recognized as the most established and comprehensively evaluated application within digital mental health modalities, has a rich documentation of use. Nonetheless, the full spectrum of telepsychiatry’s capabilities remains underutilized, often attributed to the inertia within mental health care systems that impedes the incorporation of novel technologies into established clinical practices. A deeper exploration into its historical context, operational benefits, and constraints, along with the diverse array of applications and its capacity to facilitate remote assessments and treatments, is imperative. Such an exploration would invariably enhance our comprehension and, consequently, catalyze the integration of telepsychiatry into routine clinical services. An increased familiarity with telepsychiatry’s functionalities promises to expand its deployment in everyday mental health care, optimizing patient outcomes through the strategic leverage of remote care technologies.
