Literature Review

This chapter is a literature review, namely performed on the Scopus database, which is a major database for the social sciences and hence related to this work. A main theme studied is organizational culture—which is linked to negative organisations, bullying and corporate psychopaths; as well as to positive organisations. The future of organisations is also discussed, as is the importance of innovation, the role of leadership and the role of government. The importance of a literature review is twofold. On the one hand it aims to show what themes are related to the study. On the other hand, it aims to show where certain gaps in the literature exist and which the study may seek to fill. The theme negative organisations has been understudied to date.
